Last night, my "trusted" (#5) 360 of about a year and a half decided it didn't want to play anymore.. I admit, I did something stupid because I had it vertical (mind you for about 3 days prior). The issue started when I plopped in CoD World at War. During one of the matches, I noticed black lines filling up my screen.
But like a true champ, I played on. Only lasted another game or so until my party ended. So I open the tray, and take a look at the disk -- sure enough, somehow the disk got the grinded scratches (now mind you, I had not bumped the console or moved it with the disk in before that).
So thinking nothing, I simply turned off the 360, waited a few seconds, and turned it back on.. To my sadness, I hear this load whine noise during startup --------- and then the dreaded one light of death!!
E 74 appeared on my TV -- and has been ever since. Oddly enough, it came the same day MS announced an extended warrantee due to this issue.
Sadly, I now await the dreaded "coffin".......
